Start a new Christ-Centered summer tradition! Zephyr Point Family Camp is all about bringing the family together for a week of Tahoe recreation, relaxation, fellowship with other families! We do this by providing a stress free environment, giving the freedom to embrace time set apart for the purpose of regrouping the family unit and enjoying a purpose-filled vacation with one another!
Speaker Jer Swigart
Jer has worked in the field of peacemaking and conflict transformation since 2005 when he served as the communications liaison between international NGOs, the Pakistani military, and the United Nations in the aftermath of the Northern Pakistani earthquake. Informed by that experience, his twelve-year career as a faith leader in the San Francisco Bay Area, and his engagement within national and international conflicts, he co-founded The Global Immersion Project (TGIP): a peacemaking training organization, TGIP forms, equips, andmobilizes individuals and communities to enter any kind of conflict to heal rather than to win. He specializes in creating dynamic, collaborative spaces of integrative learning that forge unlikely partnerships, awaken the collective imagination, and move people beyond theory and into practice.
Jer is a thought leader who frequently teaches nationally and internationally in the areas of peacemaking and conflict transformation, Jesus, faith and culture, enemy love, practice-based formation methods, culture creating, and collaborative leadership.
He completed his undergrad at The University of Northwestern – St. Paul and his masters degree at Fuller Theological Seminary where he focused his studies on leadership in peace and reconciliation. He currently resides with his family in Bend, OR where, in addition to his role with Global Immersion, he teaches masters students at Kilns College and serves as the lead architect and organizer of Central Oregon’s faith-based “Neighbor-Love” cohort that is galvanizing and mobilizing people of faith into a lifestyle of justice. Jer is a contributing author to a number of books and is the co-author of the forthcoming book, Mending the Divides: Creative Love in a Conflicted World (IVP, September, 2017).
