Meet the C.R.E.W.
Bedford Holmes is the Executive Director at Zephyr Point and has been serving in this role since 2008. His previous 28 years in ministry include roles such as the Executive Director at Tilikum Center for Retreats and Outdoor Ministries of George Fox University, the Associate Director at Pine Cove and Dean of Students at All Saints Episcopal School. Bedford received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Texas and a Master’s Degree in Education from George Fox University. Bedford and his high school sweetheart, Sara, have three girls whom they enjoy traveling around the world to visit. Some of these destinations include Jordan, India and New Zealand.
Stan is the Director of Development, and he came to Zephyr Point after serving as the Executive Director at Forest Home in Forest Falls, California. He has a vast background in the camping ministry, spending time at several camps across the country, such as Hume Lake, Yosemite Sierra Camp, Sambica, and Alpine Camp and Conference Center. Stan, a California native, is a graduate of Westmont College as well as the Talbot School of Theology with a Master of Arts in Christian Education. He and his wife Angi have two grown sons, Ryan and Kyle. Stan’s personal interests include downhill skiing, hiking, and travel in the western United States.
Doug Morton, the Operations Manager, has great depth and experience in operations management with over 38 years in the industry, managing three Presbyterian facilities and two state parks in his career. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry & Parks and Recreation Management from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. Doug and his wife, Lynne, have two adult boys and three grandchildren. One of his favorite things to do is go rock hunting near Lovelock and search for petrified wood.
Lynne Morton, the Director of Finance, is equally skilled in conference center management. She has served as a program director, registrar, bookkeeper, accountant, and camp coordinator at three Presbyterian facilities with a total of over 30 years of experience in this field and 7 additional years in the accounting and business management field. Lynne has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she met her husband, Doug. They have been married for over 37 years and have two adult children and three grandchildren. Doug and Lynne enjoy several hobbies together, such as working out at the gym, kayaking, snowshoeing, rock-hounding, and cooking. Their chicken and sausage gumbo has become quite the fan favorite!
Ryan McKenzie is the Director of Program Ministries at Zephyr Point. He is a graduate of Fuller Seminary with a Masters of Arts in Theology and Biblical Studies and has fifteen years of experience in youth ministry within the Presbyterian Church. Ryan is passionate about inviting people to discover and engage Jesus Christ and the kingdom He came to inaugurate through His life, death and resurrection. When he doesn’t have his nose in a book, Ryan enjoys coffee with friends, quality time with his wife Nellie, hiking around Tahoe with his Children Naomi, Adelaide, and Caelum, and the occasional practice sessions he can grab here and there with his bagpipes!
Doug is the Director of Guest Services and Marketing at Zephyr Point. Doug is known for his friendly disposition and greeting guests with a “Welcome Home” upon arrival. He has held several key roles in guest services at several luxury hotel properties and came to Zephyr Point after working at the Hyatt, located in Incline Village. Previous to that, he and his wife Sharla owned and managed a gym in Maui. During his free time, Doug likes to volunteer his time at Good News Club, travel to Maui or go fishing with his son, Alex.
