“Writing Your Life Stories” Judith
Davis, M.Div./M.A. She leads writing workshops as part of her
ministry. Judith says everyone is a writer and no experience is
necessary to discover the power of writing with others.
“How the
Bible Came Into Existence,”a history that led to the writing of various
Old and New Testament books. Rev. Frank
Hamilton, Ph.D., retired pastor. Frank has had a long tenure
with the PC(USA) and home is now the University Retirement Community in
Davis, CA.
Afternoon workshop choices:
“Laughter and Brain Fitness: using laughter & rhythmic activities
to enhance memory & brain function. Judith Pruess-Mellow, Ph.D., M.Div.,
Executive Director of Senior New Ways. A certified Spiritual Director,
she chairs the Older Adult Ministry Council of the United Methodist
Church (CA/NV Conference.)
“Murder in
the Pew” Rev. Mary Wright Gillespie,
Associate Pastor Emerita at First Presbyterian Church, San Anselmo, CA.
A reader of
mysteries since childhood, she’ll help us examine mystery stories that
are religious.
Keynote:
“God’s Gifts in the Second Half of Life” by Ron Zielske, M.Div. He heads
Elderspirit, serving retirement & longterm care facilities, and
others who build senior housing. Teacher, Pacific Lutheran Theological
Seminary & Santa Clara University. Member, advisory board for the
Center for Aging, Religion, & Spirituality and founding member of
the Center for Gerontology, Spirituality, & Faith.
