Working to make your experience at Zephyr Point better

Repairing the Pier

We’re always working to make your experience at Zephyr Point even better… With 500 conferences in 2007 serving nearly 60,000 overnight guests, we work hard just to keep up. For instance…

New in 2007
• A reconstructed pier (storm-damaged last winter)
• Grass and landscaping around the Tallac Center
• Stairs at the south end of the Park and Walk
• Stairs leading from Tahoe Center to Donaldson Memorial

Needed in 2008
• 170 replacement chairs at Tahoe Dining Room ($35 each)
• 50 replacement mattress sets
• Re-shingled roofs: Cabins 8, 30, 52, 56, 61, 84 & 85
• Re-built decking: Lakeview Lodge and some cabins
• Repaired roadways and new asphalt
• A plow truck for snow removal
• Additional pier repairs
• Cabin upgrades/improvements including furniture

Our program Wish List
• LCD projector; microphones
• CD and DVD players
• Whiteboards & easels
• 100-cup coffee makers
• Fans and clocks
• Park benches
• Song books
• Bibles & hymnals
• Portable cribs and high chairs

And then there can always be the unexpected and unplanned:
Fire completely destroyed Cabin 93 in September.  (Architects are drawing a possible replacement cabin.)

Our Zephyr Point staff works constantly to keep the buildings and grounds in shape. Volunteers are a great blessing helping
with painting, repairs, and landscaping. They also sponsor cabin refurbishment and upgrades.
Let us know if you’re able to ‘adopt a cabin.’

Plan for the future
: Leave a legacy by remembering Zephyr Point in your will, give an endowment or life term contract.

    Rubicon Memorial Room

Friends and colleagues have given memorials to furnish the Rubicon Foyer with permanent recognition of Dave Steele and Norm Pott, beloved pastors who served many years in Redwoods Presbytery and Zephyr Point programs.  Other names may be added for permanent recognition to this Memorial Room for a $3,000 or more contribution to fund the construction costs of the foyer.

Pastor Sabboth Rest & Study

Cabin 12 - Pastor's StudyCabin 12 has been prepared for individual pastors to reflect, refresh and renew.  Pastors need time away for rest and study and to enjoy the gift of time with God in spiritual quietness.  Computer space, a futon, easy chair, kitchenette and an awesome porch deck at the water's edge provide a quiet summer refuge to study and prepare sermons.  Warmth from the fireplace make it usable for spring and fall  as well.

Gift and Coffee Shoppe

Volunteers are staffing the "Bear Necessities" Gift and Coffee Shoppe at Cabin 8 during the summer months on Tuesdays through Saturdays.  Enjoy coffee and snacks on the view deck, and find a vacation tee shirt or a keepsake novelty.
